I am back home on the porch drinking my morning coffee, reading the paper, having fun with Dee and watching the antics of our wonderful dogs and cats. “There is no place like home”.
As many of you know, I was in Galveston for ArtWalk. The show went up on October 1. I worked on that show all year. I spent August and September worrying and fussing about all the final aspects of the show. I had some 30 original paintings–all Coastal scenes. Deciding what goes in the show and what stays home was a big task, but with the help of Dee, Karen, and Marjean I came up with 20 paintings for the show. Finally the week before leaving for Galveston, I had it all organized. the paintings were chosen, framed, priced, and the labels created. The marketing was in progress. All of the digital photographs were done and edited and sent to the Gallery owner Brenda.
When I finally got the show hung, with the expert help of Bets Anderson and Madeleine Baker, I smiled. I was pleased and breathing a sigh of relief. It was a good show, it looked good on the gallery wall. Now lets see what everyone else thinks of it.
Well, I think everything came together. ArtWalk was a great success. The pale of covid seemed to be lifted and people were out enjoying the perfect fall evening in Galveston. I truly enjoyed sharing my work and visiting with friends old and new. AND all the effort and worry was worth it. Thank you to all who supported me.
If you haven’t had a chance to go by the Gallery please do. The show is up until November 11th. Go to G Lee Gallery, 2217 Strand in Galveston.
Now that I am back home, and had a week off, It is back to the studio doing what I love to do…paint.
Be sure to keep up with my work on my web page: www.tylerstudio.org. I love to hear from you and really enjoy it when you can come to the Studio.
