The temp this morn was 59! The humidity is in the 20s. Fall is in the air. Yeah! We have been enjoying our morning coffee on the front porch. I have to say it has been absolutely heavenly. The deer are friskier and the birds are flitting everywhere. Soon the leaves will be showier than the gorgeous feathers of our resident birds. Fall and winter are my favorite seasons in Texas. Spring is too temperamental to count on.
The above image is one of the Tyler Shelf Art pieces (6x6x2) that I am getting ready for the Fall Festival in Centerville on Nov 4. 2022. Maybe that would be a good day for you to take one of those relaxing fall trips to the country side. The Festival will be in the Park on W. Main in downtown Centerville. It is one block west & south of the intersection of 75 and hiway 7.
Centerville is the county seat of Leon county. It is one of the largest counties in Central/East Texas. It was settled around the 1830s-1840s by people looking for a better life. The actual first permanent settlers of the area were the Kickapoo and Keechi tribes. As we know the Native Americans who were here first were slowly pushed out of the area. Ranching and Farming became the main stay of life in the county. Now slowly but surely the farmers and ranchers are being phased out and being replaced by people leaving the crowed urban areas. Nothing stops change.
