The article about Eddie’s show in the GDN makes me smile. Over the past 2 years I have met and worked with some very good artists. I am pleased that the GDN did the feature article about Eddie. He is some one to look up to in our Art Community. I know that there are some very talented people among us, but the element of Eddie’s work, especially the body of work hanging in Tyler Studio, that moves me the most is that his paintings are about us. It is about people of color who have changed our society. Eddie captures the fine sense of each character who is bigger than life. As I walk around the Gallery and take in each painting, I am moved by something that is tangible. I want to talk to each person. I want them to tell me about their struggles, but most of all, how did they manage to succeed in spite of the obstacles that they faced.
If you haven’t had a chance to see the show, drop by the Studio, 1201 Postoffice. The show will hang through the 20th. On the 13th of February, 7 pm Eddie will give an Artist’s Talk about creating portraits. Admission free, hope to see your there. Susan
