Galveston ArtWalk was this past weekend, I was the featured artist at G Lee Gallery. My show will be up until at least mid November. I hope that you will go by and look at it. Brenda runs a wonderful Gallery. She has a great menu of artists that you need to see. While I spent the entire ArtWalk day in the Gallery, I had a chance to really take in the beautiful art of so many talented people. Just to name a few of the artists that Brenda has gathered for the Gallery: Gay Paratore’s jaw dropping images of cars up close and personal, Jeanetta Brewster’s serene and beautiful images of the gulf and Elizabeth Wilson’s precious drawings of the cutest dogs in the world. I am honored to be included in the Gallery with these and other very talented Galveston artists.
I have been affiliated with the Gallery for almost 2 years now. This is the first time that I have been the featured artist for Art Walk. In the past George Lee was always the October featured artist. I am so sorry that we have lost such a multi-talented person. His passing has left a big hole in our hearts and the Galveston Art Scene.
My flagship painting for the show is TIME posted above. The image is one that I think captures the essence of Galveston-the marriage of the past with the present. Can you image going from crossing deep water in the magnificent tall ship to spending a vacation on a Cruise ship?
My show includes paintings of Galveston and scenes of the coast, the beach, pelicans, the Elissa, Bolivar, scenes of Texas landscapes, Union Pacific- Big Boy locomotive. Just like the title of my show imagines, my heart is in Texas. There are so many wonderful subjects in Texas to paint. So whether you like images of the coastal or inland scenes, there is much for you to take in with my show. Please go by the Gallery at 2217 Strand to see the show. Let me know what you think about it. I want to hear from you.
