It is vacation time!!!. I feel a bit guilty about this extravagant length of a vacation. Like so many of us, I spent my work career subsisting on two to three weeks of vacation a year. I used to really savor my vacation time and found that going back to work was a real chore. Thank goodness, I needed to money to live or I might have become a lazy bum.
The Gallery will close down Saturday, 5/20/2017 for summer vacation. I will reopen the Gallery in the early fall- September 15th. A couple of years ago my mentor Sallie Anderson told me that summers were a dead time for Galleries. Being the stubborn person that I am, for two years I tried to prove her wrong. But she was right. So I have set the Gallery season for Tyler Studio as September through May.
I will continue to paint this summer and use the internet to post my work for sale. I am in the process of growing the business of selling art on the internet. Currently I am using my web page www.tylerstudio.org, FineArtAmerican, Facebook and Instagram as my major platforms. If I believe what I read about retail in America, brick and mortar stores are all struggling and I am beginning to believe that a brick & mortar gallery might also go the way of the past.
I would really like some feedback about the way I am going about my online business. Here are some basics that I would like to get your opinion on if someone wants to buy one of my paintings: 1. Free shipping 2. If the buyer isn’t satisfied with the painting, they can return it within 30 days and get their money back ( the buyer would be responsible for return mailing cost).
I would appreciate it if you would give me your feedback. Thanks Susan
