Why do you like Art? Why do I paint? I have read articles by accomplished artists. Most say that you should paint for yourself. I have tried to adopt that thought and behavior, but find that it is only partially true for me. I do need to paint subjects and scenes that please me, but almost as important is this heartfelt emotion that I want to share my work with others. I want my paintings to reach out to others with the love and emotion that I feel when I paint.
So back to the question “Why do you like Art?”. I wish I could say that I am wise enough to know why you like art, but I have to say that all that I can do is guess. I would like to think that you like to have works of art around you that help shape your environment and mood. Some people react to their environment with significant emotion others don’t seem to be effected at all. For some the surrounding environment can either nurture or drain the spirit. It is that group of people that are sensitive to their environment that I want to share my gift with.
